What is SonicFileFinder?

SonicFileFinder is a free add-in for Visual Studio that allows a fast and convenient search for any file within every Project of the loaded Solution by entering the complete filename or just a part of it. The found file(s) can either be edited with a single keystroke or a Windows Explorer / CommandLine prompt can be opened at the file's location.

 

System Requirements

SonicFileFinder requires at least Visual Studio 2010

Installation

• Close all instances of Visual Studio.
• Doubleclick the VSIX file to start the installation.
• After completing the installation, start Visual Studio where a wizard guides you through some finishing installation steps.
• There is a help file (SonicFileFinder.chm) next to this ReadMe in case you have any questions or problems.
• You can also reach the help file from inside one of the SonicFileFinder dialogs.
• You may take a look at the help file for a short description of the features and a small guide on how to get started.

If you have some trouble during installation, you may take a look at the troubleshooting info on the Getting Started page in the help file.
